Our Story

Built by Hand,
Driven by Heart

We are a husband-and-wife team who turned sacrifice, faith, and relentless work ethic into a business that transforms homes and lives.

We started our life together in New Jersey. With two kids under the age of two, we made the bold decision to move to Georgia for a better life.

Homes Along the Way

The Work Kept
Writing the Story

Every project sharpened what we believe about home: beautiful spaces should feel durable, welcoming, and ready for real family life. These are a few of the transformations that carried us from early remodels to the full-service work we do now.

Their Own Home

Building their semi-custom home changed the direction

When they could not find the right house in Woodstock, they built their own semi-custom home and carried that experience into renovation work for homeowners.

Kitchen Transformation

Gathering places with substance

Materials, lighting, and layout all have to work together if a renovation is going to feel effortless every day.

Quiet detail, built with discipline

The calm finished look people remember is only possible when the process behind it is tight and deliberate.

The Beginning

Two kids, one dream, and a leap of faith

Married for 8 years with two children under the age of 2, they made the bold decision to leave New Jersey and move to Alpharetta, Georgia, with just one family member in the entire state, seeking a better life for their young family.

The Sacrifice

Working in the dark to build toward the light

He worked at the Jonesboro post office, traveling over an hour each way, often leaving in the morning darkness and returning after the kids were asleep. She stayed home without a car, managing everything on her own until Sundays. They ran every errand on his off days. It was hard, but they were building something.

The Breakthrough

God opened doors, one mile at a time

After months of prayer, a transfer to the Alpharetta office, just one mile from home, changed everything. He could finally have dinner with the family and tell the boys bedtime stories. They saved every penny, purchased their first home, and bought a second car. She went to college in the evenings and eventually began working at an accounting firm.

The Spark

"I think we can do this"

One Saturday, she was cleaning the house and watching a home remodeling show. When he walked in from work, she showed it to him and said those five words that would change their lives. By Monday morning she had arranged a realtor, set up bank financing, and the business was underway. The Keeping Place began in 2006 and officially became an LLC in 2009.

The Grind

From first remodel to a full operation

Their first project took 6 months. Each one after moved faster. They managed the remodeling work while he continued working full time. They hired the best specialty subs they could find and used licensed contractors for every mechanical. They weren't interested in quick remodels. They were committed to quality that a homeowner could be proud of.

The Evolution

From remodeling houses to serving homeowners

When the market shifted and big corporations pushed small investors out, they adapted. They purchased land in Woodstock and built their first semi-custom home. That experience transformed the business from purchasing distressed properties to renovating for homeowners.

Today

Licensed, experienced, and driven by purpose

With a Georgia Real Estate License (2017) and a Residential Construction License (2021), The Keeping Place brings over 15 years of hands-on experience, professional credentials, and an unshakable commitment to quality. Their kids witnessed the entire journey: the early mornings, the late nights, and the long drives to inspect work.

We changed our circumstances through hard work, perseverance, and the willingness to keep going.

And we will be remiss if we do not acknowledge and give all credit to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who not only gave us the vision, but gave us the strength and the faith to take that drive one more time.

What We Believe

The Values That Guide Us

Faith First

We give all credit to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He gave us the vision, the strength, and the faith to take that drive one more time.

Family Is Everything

Our business was born from the desire to build a better life for our children. Every decision we make is rooted in that same love.

Quality Without Compromise

We hire licensed contractors for mechanicals, specialty subs for each trade, and premium materials for every project. No shortcuts. Ever.

Your Vision Matters

It is gratifying to listen to a client's desires and make them a reality. We don't impose. We listen, we understand, and then we build.

Hard Work & Tenacity

Meaningful change takes hard work, perseverance, and the courage to start.

Every Budget Deserves Care

We hope to help homeowners in all budgets realize their vision. Quality craftsmanship isn't a luxury. It's a standard.

A Family Legacy

Our Children Saw
Everything

Our difficult times and success was something our kids witnessed firsthand. They saw us work extremely hard, spending many days making long drives to a property to inspect work, meet a sub, or deliver materials. Early mornings to late nights, between our jobs and our business.

He spent his off days at the pool and at the park with the family. He played with them every chance he got and they created memorable moments that are remembered to this day. That same devotion to family now flows through every home they touch.

Real Homes

Made for gathering, not just showing.

Family First

The spaces we love most are the ones built for everyday routines: shoes at the door, dinner with the kids, and a home that feels easier to live in.
